PSV opponent Borussia Dortmund down despite goal by Donyell Malen after weak second half | Foreign football

Shortly after Malen’s goal, defender Nico Schlotterbeck, who is suspended for the return against PSV, gave Dortmund the lead. Hoffenheim struck after halftime. Maximilian Beier scored in the 61st and 64th minutes. Wout Weghorst replaced the attacker in the 79th minute.

The Dortmund supporters whistled at their players afterwards. The club remains in fourth place, 1 point ahead of number 5 RB Leizpig. Dortmund and PSV will face each other for the second time on Wednesday, March 13, and will then compete for a place in the quarter-finals.

For Malen, who received a yellow card in injury time, it was his tenth goal this season in the competition. Last season he got stuck on nine hits. Ian Maatsen also had a starting place for the home team. The defender left fifteen minutes before the end.
