Peter Gillis has not been informed by Talpa about the termination of his reality series ‘Familie Gillis: Massa is Kassa’. This is what the holiday park magnate says in the Omroep Brabant podcast ‘Ni Na Lammers Listening’. Talpa decided to stop the reality series last month after the judge convicted Gillis for tax fraud and assault on his ex-girlfriend Nicol Kremers.

Peter Gillis received a call from podcast makers Nina van den Broek and Frank Lammers. Lammers provided the voice-over in the program for sixteen seasons. “No one told me that it will no longer continue,” says Lammers. “No, not to me either. Not officially, no,” Gillis agrees. “You didn’t hear anything either? That’s great,” says Lammers.

“That voice is part of it, right?” says Gillis about the dry way in which Frank Lammers commented on the daily life of the family. “Frank made the series. It was funny. Everyone knows ‘Massa is Kassa’ of course because of Frank.”

Listen to the entire conversation in the podcast ‘Ni Na Lammers Listening’:

Talpa announced in May, after the judge’s ruling, that the current season was the last for the time being. “As long as there is an appeal or cassation in these cases, no new admissions will take place,” a spokesperson said.

The channel indicated in 2023 that the program would end ‘early’ if Gillis was convicted ‘before or during the broadcast of the series’. The series started in 2020 and showed the daily life of the family. In the first seasons, Peter, his children and his ex-girlfriend Nicol Kremers were constantly followed by a camera crew.

Condemnation
Viewers not only got a glimpse into the family business, but also into the life of the holiday park entrepreneur. The lawsuits against him were also discussed. Peter Gillis was sentenced in early May to eighteen months in prison, six months of which were conditional, for tax fraud. In addition, he must pay a fine of more than 1.3 million euros.

‘To be continued’
The final episode of the series showed how Gillis and his girlfriend Wendy were followed as he heard the court’s ruling. Voice-over Frank Lammers concluded with: “To be continued. How will the Gillis family fare, time will tell. But for now: Hello!”
