PSV is disappointed with the end of their winning streak: ‘The record was alive within the group of players’

There was not a great mood in the PSV dressing room on Sunday afternoon. With a 1-1 draw against FC Utrecht in De Galgenwaard stadium, 17 consecutive victories in the Eredivisie came to an end. The Eindhoven team thus let slip a unique record. “The record was alive within the group of players,” said PSV player Malik Tillman.

PSV coach Peter Bosz saw that his team was not calm enough on the ball to beat FC Utrecht on Sunday afternoon. “The field made it difficult to play good and well-groomed positional play. But we have to look for it mainly within ourselves. It was just not too much.”

Bosz: “They turned it into a fighting match and they did it well. It is logical that trainers will try something if they have to play against us. Normally that is not an issue for us, but we did not do well in football. I cannot blame anyone that they did not work hard. And if you get small opportunities, you have to make them. Although FC Utrecht also had chances to take the lead.”

“What the boys have achieved is incredibly impressive.”

There was not a very good atmosphere in the dressing room after the draw. “Of course we would have liked to have taken the record. But it is still incredibly good what the boys have achieved. Winning seventeen league matches in a row and then a draw. So we have not lost yet. We are now going to prepare for Feyenoord for two days, so a lot We don’t have time.”

“It’s all about winning the competition.”

PSV midfielder Malik Tillman was disappointed after the division of points. “The record was alive within the group of players. However, nothing is wrong yet, because it is about winning the competition. We are a top team and can deal with this setback.”

There seems to be a considerable chance that Tillman will also start against Feyenoord on Wednesday. Joey Veerman is still missing due to an injury. The recovery of Noa Lang and Hirving Lozano is going well. Both came on against FC Utrecht and may be ready for a starting spot.
