PSV has an easy general for the Champions League against ten Heracles

PSV won against Heracles with little effort on Friday evening. An early red card made it an easy evening for the Eindhoven team. Goals from Luuk de Jong and Olivier Boscagli helped PSV to a 2-0 win. The score should have been considerably higher, but the players were not focused.

Just like in Almelo, it did not take long before Heracles found itself with ten men. While it took another 21 minutes in Overijssel, in Eindhoven it took just thirteen minutes. Hit the ankle of Luuk de Jong. Bryan Limbombe came in too hard according to referee Ingmar Oostrom and had to leave.

A very nice start for PSV, as De Jong was not seriously injured. In fact, five minutes later the striker nodded home from a free kick from Joey Veerman. The score could then have gone much further, but the home team lacked sharpness.

Focus on Tuesday
After 55 minutes it was Olivier Boscagli who, out of nowhere, stood free in front of the keeper and finished. It was only 2-0, but it should have already been 6-0. Everyone at the front at PSV had not had their sights set on focus until then. An unprecedented number of opportunities were missed and Heracles goalkeeper Michael Brouwer was able to distinguish himself several times with great saves.

Still, the 2-0 was a very nice score for PSV. It could already think about Tuesday’s cracker. Then Borussia Dortmund visits Eindhoven for the eighth final of the Champions League. The match could be played at half strength so that no more unnecessary strength was lost.

Save players
The match didn’t get much more fun, although PSV hit the crossbar through De Jong. He was replaced not much later, just like Joey Veerman. Players were spared for that important match on Tuesday. Then it will undoubtedly be more exciting than Friday evening.

But in the end, PSV will not care about that. Peter Bosz’s team remains undefeated and is one step closer to the title.
