PSV competes with Rangers for a place in the Champions League group stage

PSV want to make the strong start of the season perfect with a place in the group stage of the Champions League. The Eindhoven club has to settle for this in its own Philips stadium with Rangers FC, which is led by trainer Giovanni van Bronckhorst. The first game last week in Glasgow ended undecided (2-2).

Trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij already led PSV to the win of the Johan Cruijff Scale this season. His team is also without loss of points in the Eredivisie. Not only is a lot of prestige at stake against Rangers. Participation in the group stage yields PSV at least 35 million euros, including income from television rights and receipts.

Van Nistelrooij is counting on Cody Gakpo, the attacker who is clearly in the interest of Manchester United and who may be playing his last game for PSV. The coach does not think that Gakpo has been distracted by a possible transfer and thinks he makes a motivated impression.

The match between PSV and Rangers FC starts at 9 p.m.
