PSG.LGD and OG were eliminated in the lower bracket on Matchday 4 of Dota 2 World Championship “The International”. Both teams fell against colleagues from their own region. The strong representation of Western Europe in the top 4 is striking.

PSG.LGD and OG drop out of Worlds
PSG.LGD, which was one of the favorites in the run-up to the tournament, narrowly beat Beastcoast on the fourth day of play, but ultimately beat their regional colleagues from Team Aster. OG suffered a similar fate, being sent 0:2 out of the tournament by Team Liquid.
Liquid put on an impressive win streak in the lower bracket, and went on to defeat Thunder Awaken in addition to OG. Next, the team will have to prove themselves against Aster.
Western Europe dominates the top 4.
With Team Secret, Tundra Esports and Team Liquid, three of the four remaining teams are from Western Europe, only Team Aster represents the Chinese region in the top 4. Secret’s Clement “Puppey” Ivanov and Liquid’s Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen are two players hoping for their second world title.
