Franziska Preuss loses ground in the race for the overall World Cup victory. The first race after the World Cup was puzzled by Germany’s best biathlete.
At their first World Cup appearance after the successful World Cup, the German biathletes showed mixed services a week and a half ago.
At the sprint race in the Czech Nové Město, Franziska Preuß, which is leading overall, only landed in 15th place. The 30-year World Cup points released Lou JeanMonnot. The French woman finished eleven ranks in front of the German and is now only 68 points behind Preuss.
This made their only mistake on the second shooting. “I’m already disappointed. Even with zero I would have had no chance. There was somehow the worm in it,” said Preuss in the ARD, adding: “The one mistake annoys me. I started thinking. I didn’t feel that bad, but still collected.”
In the surprising victory of Ingrid Landmark Tindrevold from Norway, Selina Grotian over 7.5 km after a shooting error was also the best athlete of the German Ski Association (DSV).
“I am very satisfied, especially with my lying shooting. I have had problems for the last few weeks,” said Grotian in the finish area and was also certain: “To be at the forefront, I should have made zero today”
The French women Braisaz-Bouchet (1/+15.1) and Julia Simon (0/+20.9) took second and three directly behind Tanddrevold.
Preuss, which had shone with four medals at the World Cup in Lenzerheide in February, was 54.1 seconds behind Tandrevold in the end. It was her third -tissue test in the 15th race of the winter.
