Big cheers with the German biathletes: Franziska Preuß and Justus Strelow got a podium in the single mixed at the World Cup in Lenzerheide.

What a race in Lenzerheide: The German biathletes Franziska Preuß and Justus Strelow fought third place at the World Cup after a strong appearance and a total of four releases in the single mixed season and thus the bronze medal. Gold went to France with Julia Simon and Quentin Fillon Maillet, silver on Norway with Ranghild Femsteinevik and Johannes Thingnes Bö.

For Prussia it was the fourth medal at the World Cup. She had already won gold in the first World Cup week in the chasing, silver in sprint and bronze with the mixed relay. For the German Ski Association (DSV) it was the second World Cup medal in the single mixed.

After a rest day, the final medal decisions are made in Switzerland at the weekend. On Saturday the seasons of women (12.05 p.m.) and men (3:05 p.m.) are coming up, on Sunday the title fights end with the mass starts of the biathletes (1.45 p.m.) and biathletes (4:05 p.m., all information: ARD and Eurosport).

Prussia, who had given a medal in the last shooting after two mistakes in the last shooting and had only become seventh, showed slight weaknesses even at her first stand. She had to reload twice, so Strelow only got into the race as tenth 22.1 seconds behind France.

He needed a relief in his first circulation, then he cleared up all five slices in 18.7 seconds. So he switched to Prussia second, 4.4 seconds behind Switzerland. And the Bavarian showed all her skills, so Strelow went to the cross -country ski run 5.9 seconds before the Frenchman Fillon Fillon. Strelow delivered sensationally, so that there was a showdown between him and the French.

Both made a league on the last shooting, but Fillon Maillet was too strong on the track. And unlike in the mixed relay, when Bö Strelow just missed on the home stretch, the record world champion caught up with the Saxons this time and won the silver medal before the DSV duo.
