“By providing the council members with a box with Flemish quality products, we as Boerenbond want to put the professional knowledge of our West Flemish farmers and the importance of local food production in the spotlight,” says Joris Vande Vyvere of Boerenbond West Flanders. “We want it also give consultation between farmers and provincial council members a boost.”
The vegetable box is also an invitation for the council members. “We invite them to visit a farm in their area in the spring so that they can meet a farmer and horticulturist. This way they can experience first-hand the challenges farmers face every day.”
