About the decision to give priority to some provincial roads, deputy Bart van Dekken (CDA) said the following: “Priority goes to through roads, hospitals and healthcare locations, larger villages, large industrial estates and prisons. With these choices we ensure that the roads with the greatest social significance remain passable for residents, emergency services and supplies for as long as possible.”
The province’s cycle paths are currently no longer cleared of snow. In the past it sometimes happened that there was a shortage of road salt, but that is not the case now. There is still enough available to meet the current commitment.
