Give the Elster outdoor values back to nature in Utrecht. That was the assignment with which the province of Utrecht, Rijkswaterstaat and Utrechts Landschap started working ten years ago to transform these floodplains into a lively flora and fauna. Now, konik horses, Galloways and its unique bird species are grazing such as the Kluut, Roerdomp and redshaft.
