It’s bitterly cold on the ice rink in Jipsingboertange, but it doesn’t bite Jan Schmitz and Mieke Bodde. Jan sees the beautiful Mieke on the skates on the slippery ice. “That Jan Schmitz was crazy about me. He was always after me. He wanted to go out with me”, Mieke once told her daughter. These are the warm childhood memories of Jan Schmitz (93 years old) and Mieke Bodde (90 years old).
