72,600 apartment or house owners in Berlin have not submitted declarations of assessment for the new property tax. The deadline has passed since February 1st.

And yet you might be surprised that more than 800,000 declarations have already been received by the tax office.

The procedure was annoyingly complicated. And citizens have no idea what will happen to them financially in 2025.

Or rather, citizens can be sure – it won’t get any cheaper, Berlin has a lot of debt to pay off. He will find out how much he has to pay “in the second half of 2024,” according to the Finance Senate.

Citizens in the assessment rate land value no man’s land.

Anyone who thinks, it’s good that I’m a tenant – the stress shock will ultimately affect them too.
