Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won with his club on Thursday. At the same time, however, the basketball superstar is said to have had a break-in.
While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was on the floor with the Oklahoma City Thunder, his house was broken into. The incident occurred on Thursday evening local time in Nichols Hills, an affluent suburb of Oklahoma City. This is where the property of the Canadian NBA professional is located, who scored 31 points against the Washington Wizards and thus contributed significantly to his club’s 127:108 victory.
As police confirmed to ABC News, the perpetrators were able to escape before emergency services arrived. There have been no arrests so far.
Gilgeous-Alexander is not the first professional athlete in the United States to have his home targeted by burglars. In recent months, NFL professionals such as Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Joe Burrow as well as NBA star Luka Doncic have also been affected. It was only in February that seven suspected members of a South American thieves gang were arrested who are said to be connected to several of these crimes.
