Princess Amalia present for the first time on Prinsjesdag | Inland

Due to her presence, the 18-year-old princess will also witness the new location where the king will share the cabinet plans. Earlier Tuesday it was announced that King Willem-Alexander will read the Speech from the Throne this year in the Koninklijke Schouwburg in The Hague.

At the end of last year, Amalia had her first official ceremony as princess. On December 8, a day after her eighteenth birthday, the eldest daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima took a seat in the Council of State. She was led there by her father, as it is officially called. Amalia also gave a speech.

This year, Prinsjesdag will be held on September 20, the third Tuesday of that month. Then there will probably be no corona rules and large numbers of people will be allowed to attend for the first time since 2019. The usual military ceremonial can then continue.

For the past two years, the so-called United Assembly of the Senate and House of Representatives has been held in the Grote Kerk on Budget Day due to corona. The municipality of The Hague reported earlier Tuesday that this location with large numbers of people would cause too much nuisance for local residents and shopkeepers. The Ridderzaal is also not available, due to the renovation of the Binnenhof.
