Sand Prince William let it slip during a radio interview: Prince George he already stops to sleep at school, that one Lambbrook School not far from their residence in Windsor, which the Wales son frequents together with his sister Charlotte and little brother Louis. Until now it had been hoped that the second in line to the throne would be able to avoid spending too much time alone, away from home. In fact, if it had been up to mum Kate, her firstborn would have been able to come home at the end of the day even during his secondary school years. But it seems that plans for George have definitely changed.
Prince George sleeps over at school with his classmates
It all started with a personal admission made by William during a conversation with the hosts of a morning program on the London station HeartRadio. The Prince of Wales confessed that he is not a morning person, but he usually takes Louis and Charlotte to school at that time, as their older brother, George already sometimes stops to sleep in Lambrook. And addressing his family during the broadcast, he said: «Charlotte and Louis, if you’re listening, since George stayed over at school last night, make sure you’re on time please, and don’t argue about what to listen to in the car».
Change of plans for Prince George
Although mother Kate Middleton has always opposed a boarding school that forces George to sleep away from home for prolonged periods, the reality is that the traditions at court must be respected for every heir to the throne. As already happened in the case of his grandfather, Charles III, who as a boy was even sent to Scotland, to Gordonstoun, a very strict school where the future monarch suffered serious episodes of bullying; and that of his father William, who studied at the prestigious and exclusive EtonGeorge is also preparing for boarding school.

But what will George’s new school be?
George will turn 13 in July and will therefore move to a secondary school in September, but his parents have not yet announced which school they will choose. According to some sources, it would be Eton college, a favorite of the royal family and the English aristocracy. Once the course at Lambrook has been completed, this has always been the first choice for the very young, future monarch. However, Eton is an all-male institution and both Kate and William would prefer a coeducational institution.
An environmentalist school for George
Looking for a more modern institution in line with Kate’s wishes, the Waleses visited a few weeks ago theOundle Schoola prestigious boarding school in the county of Northamptonshire, central England. Founded in 1556, it is now the third largest boarding school in England, behind only Eton and Millfield. Its program values tradition but is also renowned for art and music and offers numerous environmentalist activities that will certainly interest George. All at a cost of over £44,000 a year for full-time boarders.

The heir to the throne will still go to school with Charlotte and Louis
William and Kate also like the school for another reason: they could send you too Charlotte and Louis. In fact, unlike Eton, Oundle began admitting girls for over thirty years. Kate, in particular, is keen to keep her three children together throughout high school. She is determined to ensure that her son can avoid negative experiences, like those experienced by grandfather Carlo. And above all he wants that, in a school of normal boys and girls, he who is destined one day to ascend the throne of England, does not end up feeling alone.
