Primera División: Real Madrid extend their lead in the table

Spain’s record champions Real Madrid are making great strides towards the championship.

The Champions League semi-finalist won 3-1 (2-1) at CA Osasuna on Wednesday and extended the lead over the only remaining opponent FC Barcelona to 18 points, but the Catalans have played two games less.

The royals only need four points from the last five games to complete the 35th championship in the club’s history.

Former Bayern star David Alaba (12th) with his second goal of the season, Marco Asensio (45th) and Lucas Vazquez (90th + 6) scored for Real, for Osasuna the Croatian Ante Budimir (13th) was also in the fifth game consecutively successful.

Real’s last in-form goalscorer Karim Benzema allowed himself the luxury of giving away two penalties (52nd/59th). Toni Kroos came on as a substitute in the 71st minute.
