Before the quarter-final first leg in the Champions League between Bavaria and Inter, there is a curious moment in the transmission at Prime. The focus: moderator Alex Schlüter.

Usually TV presenter Alex Schlüter often overcome his interlocutors clearly. The 39-year-old is finally 1.96 meters tall. Few stars can keep up with football. But on Tuesday evening before the first leg in the Champions League quarter-finals between FC Bayern and Inter Milan, Schlüter welcomed the audience to the transmission streaming service Prime while sitting. First presented the team of experts from Josephine Henning, Christoph Kramer and Matthias Sammer. And then explained his unusual “pose”.

“Once I have to say that now, otherwise I feel bad,” continued Schlüter. “The Schlüter did not become lazy, I had a little knee surgery,” said the 39-year-old, standing up on the talk desk and showing his right leg. Schlüter had a large cuff to support the right knee over black trousers. “I booked the seat today. It’s an exception.”

Then Schlüter elegantly talked about his own injury to the current misery of FC Bayern, reacted to his blessing with a wink. And had the stunned reactions from Henning, Kramer and Sammer on his side.

Schlüter moderates the Champions League broadcasts at Prime since 2024, previously stood in front of the camera at the competing streaming service since 2016, was considered the face of the station. At Prime, Schlüter also moderated the broadcasts of the Tennis Grand Slam in Wimbledon last year.
