Prime Minister Rutte will visit Malaysia and Vietnam from Tuesday, October 31 to Thursday, November 2, 2023. The visit focuses on the good relationship between the Netherlands and the two countries and cooperation in the areas of high-tech, digitalization and sustainability. An economic mission travels with companies led by Brigit van Dijk – van de Reijt, CEO of Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij.

The visit starts on Tuesday evening, October 31, in Malaysia with a trade dinner, attended by Dutch and Malaysian businesses and a delegation from the Malaysian government. Various cooperation documents will be signed this evening in the areas of water, agriculture, sustainability and high-tech.

On Wednesday, November 1, the Prime Minister will be received by Prime Minister Anwar of Malaysia and he will speak with Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah about cooperation on making palm oil more sustainable. Prime Minister Rutte will also visit chip machine manufacturer BESI and speak at the 6e Malaysia-Netherlands Water Dialogue and will discuss the Indo-Pacific strategy with Malaysian students. He also visits the Kuala Lumpur Tower and the Islamic Arts Museum.

Prime Minister Rutte will be in Vietnam on Thursday, November 2. Here he will be received by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam and meet with Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV). Prime Minister Rutte will also speak with representatives of various Dutch companies and talk to students at the Hanoi – Amsterdam High School. He also participates in the High-tech Business Forum in the Samsung R&D Center, the Green Economy Forum and a meeting of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and Clingendael.

During the visit, cooperation documents will be signed with Vietnam in the areas of rare earth metals, customs, female entrepreneurship. The visit ends with a state banquet hosted by Vietnam.
