Prime Minister Rutte will travel to Romania on Wednesday 12 October 2022 to visit the Dutch military personnel who participate in the NATO force and to meet President Iohannis and Prime Minister Ciucă.
The meeting with President Iohannis and Prime Minister Ciucă will take place at a military base in Cincu. The military cooperation between the Netherlands and Romania will be discussed. Current topics such as the latest developments regarding the war in Ukraine and energy will also be discussed during the meeting.
The approximately 200 Dutch soldiers stationed at the military base in Cincu are part of NATO’s new ‘battle group’. It is commanded by France and has a total of 900 soldiers. The Dutch soldiers will be stationed in Cincu for about a year.
