Norwegian Prime Minister announced an increase in hybrid operations in the country, including cyber attacks

In particular, “Russian-connected” hackers attacked Nortura, one of the largest food manufacturers, as well as the Nordland government, one of the northernmost regions of the country.

Russia has increased the number of “hybrid” operations” against Norway amid rising tensions with the US and NATO, including cyber attacks, declared Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in an interview with The Times.

According to him, the Nortura company, one of the largest food producers, as well as the government of Nordland, one of the northernmost regions of the kingdom, were attacked by “Russian-connected” hackers.

Støre also said that “Norwegian civilian aircraft suffered from interference caused by military equipment”, but did not give details.

“We are facing hybrid operations, sometimes targeting companies and technology research, as well as key institutions such as the Storting. [парламент Норвегии],” the prime minister said.

The Scandinavian and Baltic states are concerned about the threat Russia “poses” to all of Eastern Europe and the risk that any conflict in Ukraine could spill over to the north.
