Animal Collective have announced the re-release of their debut album Spirit They’re Gone, Spirit They’ve Vanished – and re-release the first song from it, Chocolate Girl. In addition to the newly recorded songs, four previously unreleased tracks by the band and a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” will be released as an EP entitled “A Night at Mr. Raindrop’s Holistic Supermarket”. A track from it, Untitled #1, was also featured on the group’s YouTube channel. The album and EP will be released together on May 12th via indie label Domino.

Originally released in August 2000, the ten-song album was recorded and produced at home by Animal Collective founders David Portner and Noah Lennox before being subsequently declared the band’s debut album. The unreleased songs are from the same period as the album.
