President Hainer and adviser Zahavi comment on the Lewandowski deal

Good things come to those who wait: Robert Lewandowski’s move from FC Bayern to FC Barcelona is just a formality. On Saturday, Munich President Herbert Hainer, Lewandowski advisor Pini Zahavi and the Pole himself commented on the transfer.

“We have a verbal commitment,” said President and Chairman of the Supervisory Board Herbert Hainer in an interview with “Bayerischer Rundfunk” during the team presentation on Saturday, adding: “It’s good for both sides that we now have clarity.”

Hainer emphasized that Lewandowski was an “incredibly well-deserved player” for the German record champions, who had won many titles and had been named world footballer twice. “However, we also gave him a team that enabled him to win these titles,” emphasized the 68-year-old.

Lewandowski is said to bring in a fixed fee of 45 million euros, plus up to 5 million euros in additional payments.

He was “glad” that there was a solution “that allows us to invest money in the future of the team,” said Hainer. FC Bayern will also end the third Corona season with a profit and will continue to have “the opportunity to become active in the transfer market”.

Lewandowski’s advisor thanks FC Bayern

Meanwhile, Lewandowski’s notorious agent Pini Zahavi has vowed to work with the record champions after the agreed change of mandate.

He wanted to thank FC Bayern, and especially CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director and Hasan Salihamidzic, “for finally understanding and respecting Robert’s dream of a new challenge in his career,” he said on “Sky”.

Zahavi reported that negotiations dragged on until midnight on Friday. “In the end, I think everyone emerges as a winner from this story,” he said. “Robert deserves to take on a new challenge with his head held high after so many great years and loyal service to FC Bayern Munich.”

At the same time, FC Bayern received “very good compensation”. “This great club will always be one of the biggest in the world and I wish them the best of luck and success for next season,” added Lewandowski’s agent.

Lewandowski will soon return to Munich

Lewandowski himself also commented on Saturday about his departure from FC Bayern and the schedule for the coming hours and days.

“I will come back and say goodbye to all the employees. I didn’t have much time to prepare for it. It all happened too quickly to say goodbye to everyone,” revealed the goalgetter at “sky“.

He will soon be returning to Munich. “After the training camp I will come back and say goodbye properly. I will then organize a few things,” said the veteran. But now it’s going to Barcelona “quickly”.

In parting, he said: “These 8 years were special and you don’t forget that. I had a great time in Munich.”
