Willingen (dpa) – In the immediate preparation time for the Winter Olympics, German ski jumpers severely restricted their family life because of Corona.
“We were really very separated,” said Germany’s currently best jumper Karl Geiger. The 28-year-old from Oberstdorf is married and has a small daughter. “We slept separately,” said Geiger.
National coach Stefan Horngacher said about the protective measures against the corona virus: “If you have children and a wife and then you have to distance yourself, it’s a strange feeling. But the situation simply challenged it. Nothing else helps.”
