Manchester (AP) – The English football record champions Manchester United is apparently about to sign Erik ten Hag as coach for the coming season. This is reported by several media in England.
The current coach of Ajax Amsterdam could succeed Ralf Rangnick, who will coach the Red Devils on an interim basis until the end of the season after Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer split. Talks between Man United and Ajax have picked up speed over the past 24 hours. A deal could materialize in the next few days.
Ten Hag has been coaching the Dutch top club Ajax Amsterdam since 2017, which he led twice to the double (2019 and 2021) and once to the semi-finals of the Champions League (2019). That year, Ajax were knocked out in the round of 16 after advancing comfortably through the group stage with six wins, including two against Dortmund. The 52-year-old also coached Bayern’s second team between 2013 and 2015.
