Premier League – Mané: wait and see

Dakar (dpa) – The striker Sadio Mané, who is associated with Bayern Munich, has initially dampened speculation about a farewell to Liverpool FC.

After the 3-1 victory with Senegal’s national soccer team in a qualifier for the Africa Cup of Nations against Benin, Mané clarified statements from the previous day. Mané had previously scored all three goals for the defending champions.

“My comments from yesterday have probably gone around the world before, but I wanted to make it clear that I’m still under contract at Liverpool and have great respect for the club. As I’ve said before – now it’s time to wait,” said the outside attacker. The 30-year-old’s contract with the Champions League finalists runs until June 30, 2023.

Mané had previously fueled rumors about leaving the team of German coach Jürgen Klopp himself. Like everyone else, he is also on social media and can see the comments of his followers and fans. “I guess 60 to 70 percent of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool. I’ll do what they want,” Mané said, adding: “The future will tell us soon. We shouldn’t rush anything, because we we will decide together.”
