The English first division club Leeds United has separated from its coach Jesse Marsch after around eleven months in office. The Whites made the announcement on Monday, a day after losing 1-0 to newly promoted Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. The traditional club has not won in the English top flight since the beginning of November, and with 18 points is not in relegation rank 18 only because of the better goal difference compared to Everton.
Marsch took over Leeds in February 2022 from Argentinian Marcelo Bielsa, who had previously led the club back to the Premier League after a long period in the second tier. Since then, the former coach of RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg has strengthened the squad for 145.6 million euros with income of 113.5 million for top performers Raphinha (Barcelona) and Kalvin Phillips (Man City), among others. There came z. B. his US compatriots Brenden Aaronson from Salzburg, Tyler Adams from Leipzig and most recently Weston McKennie from Juventus.

However, there was no sporting success: Marsch has an average of 1.16 points. Eddie Gray last made a weaker return with more than 20 competitive appearances for the Whites between 2003 and 2004 (0.93) – on Leeds’ staff history.
