“Right in the middle instead of just there,” once the German sports broadcaster said. Now this saying could become a reality in the Premier League.
The English Premier League wants to further upgrade the TV broadcasts-and sets a lot more closely to the action on and off the square. As BBC and the “Daily Telegraph” report, the new TV rights include far-reaching changes to reporting from the coming season.
According to the reports, the broadcasting broadcaster Sky and TNT Sport will in future lead interviews with replaced players directly on the sidelines – while the game is still running. However, a short break should be granted to the professionals before they ask the questions.
The spectator experience is also expanded in the area of the picture: camera teams should be allowed to briefly enter the lawn at the goal celebration in order to enable even closer recordings. In addition, access to the cabins is also to be granted. However, this does not apply to phases in which team meetings take place.
How often these new insights are granted and in which games they are used is open so far. An official confirmation by the Premier League has so far been pending. The new TV contract has a scope of the equivalent of 7.81 billion euros over four years-the clubs benefit financially significantly.
