Premier League: FC Arsenal fails in the top game

Leaders FC Arsenal were unable to convert their home advantage into their next win in the Premier League’s top game.

The Gunners had to settle for a 0-0 draw against third-placed Newcastle United.

Arsenal are still a comfortable eight points clear of champions Manchester City and nine ahead of the Magpies.

The record champions Manchester United are level on points with Newcastle after beating AFC Bournemouth 3-0 (1-0).

The Brazilian Casemiro (23rd), Luke Shaw (49th) and Marcus Rashford (86th) ensured the Red Devils’ home win, which was never in jeopardy.

Goalkeeper Bernd Leno celebrated the third win in a row with the strong promoted Fulham FC with a 1-0 (1-0) win at Leicester City and is now tied with Liverpool FC in seventh place with the Cottagers.

Brighton & Hove Albion, who clearly won 4-1 (1-0) at FC Everton, are right behind them.
