Premier League, Chelsea wins the derby with West Ham

The former Dortmund playmaker scores two minutes after the blue’s mistake from the spot. Burnley dreams of salvation comeback

Lukaku gives a shock, Jorginho ruins everything. In the end, however, Chelsea smiled the same, thanks to the goal in the 90th minute of the new entry Pulisic. In the 34th round of the Premier League, the Blues win the derby 1-0 against West Ham: the former Dortmund playmaker will decide the match, scoring two minutes after the Italian-Brazilian’s mistake, who misses a penalty won from Romelu. Before the Liverpool derby, scheduled for 5.30 pm, Brighton and Southampton also met (2-2). Burnley, who came out victorious (1-0) from the match against Wolves, instead dreams of a sensational recovery-salvation: third consecutive useful result after the change on the bench and +2 on the red zone of the standings.

Chlesea West-Ham 1-0

Seventy minutes of balance, then the Blues manage to turn. At Stamford Bridge the formations of Tuchel and Moyes face off. The German focuses on Thiago Silva in defense and the trident made up of Havertz, Werner and Mount, the Hammers line up with Yarmolenko and Fornals in support of Benrahma. The Ukrainian is the most dangerous of the visiting team and, after a wasted opportunity in the first 45 ‘, in the second half he comes close to the advantage but Mendy tells him no. After the hour of play, Werner lights up and knocks three times – without success – on Fabianski’s door. Tuchel replaces him, trying to shuffle the cards on the table: inside Lukaku, Pulisic and Ziyech, outside Timo, Havertz and Loftus-Cheek. The choice is spot on, in the 85th minute the former Inter wins a penalty kick, causing Dawson to be sent off for a penalty in the area. Jorginho shows up on the spot and takes a run-up, jumps and kicks slowly, centrally, into Fabianski’s arms. The Blues are not there and react immediately, scoring 1-0 in the 90th minute with Pulisic. Third place is thus always safer: Chelsea have a five-point advantage (and one game less) than fourth-placed Arsenal.

Come back to safety

Among the matches at 15, Michael Jackson’s Burnley stands out and, winning 1-0 against Wolverhampton, wins the third consecutive useful result since sitting on the Clarets bench. In the first fraction, the Wolves go to the shooting with Jimenez, Jonny and Moutinho. In the second half they bend to Vydra who – after a goal canceled for offside – in the 62nd minute takes advantage of a low cross from Weghorst and scores a very heavy goal with a view to salvation. In Brighton, on the other hand, the Seagulls draw against Southampton: the hosts go 2-0 with Wellbeck and an own goal from Salisu, two pearls from the edge of Ward-Prowse (one of which on a free kick) then set the result on the final 2-2. In the final, Brighton achieves the 3-2 with a goal from Gross, canceled by the Var for an offside.
