Things are not going well for Álex Jiménez at the moment. After serious allegations, the defense attorney begins to feel the consequences.
Premier League club AFC Bournemouth have dropped their defender Álex Jiménez from the squad for this weekend’s game against Fulham FC. According to its own statement, the club responded to the Spaniard’s posts on social media.
What exactly is at stake is not clear from the club report, but it seems that it could be tricky for Jiménez. Bournemouth wrote: “The club recognizes the seriousness of the matter. This is currently under investigation.”
As the English newspaper “The Sun” reports, the 21-year-old defender is said to have contacted a 15-year-old girl and exchanged messages with her. Screenshots of the communication appeared on social media. Among other things, Jiménez is said to have sent a picture of himself from his car with a suggestive caption.
It is still unclear what punishment the young Spanish international player could face if the allegations are confirmed. Jiménez is currently on loan from AC Milan and should actually be signed permanently in the summer. With 33 appearances this season, he is part of the regular staff at Bournemouth.
