Everyone is given the right to change their surname once in their life, insofar as that change concerns the name of the father, the mother or a combination of both. The House Justice Committee approved a bill to that effect by Stefaan Van Hecke (Green) on Wednesday. The text now has to pass the plenary Chamber.
