The 37-year-old former midfielder, who played for Beşiktaş as well as Fenerbahçe and Başakşehir FK in Türkiye, had words full of praise for the coach Sergen Yalçın, with whom he worked in the black and whites.
In his statement to AA correspondent, Josef de Souza stated that he is currently spending time with his family and said, “Right now, I am focusing on spending time with my children and family. They also play football. I will bring my children to Beşiktaş in a few years. I am just enjoying my life right now.” he said.
“I MISS SERGEN YALÇIN VERY MUCH”
Josef de Souza said that coach Sergen Yalçın, with whom he won the Super League and Turkish Cup championships at Beşiktaş, helped him a lot.
Wishing Sergen Yalçın well for his career, the former Brazilian football player said:
“I miss Sergen Yalçın very much. He is like a father to me. He helped me a lot when I was playing for Beşiktaş. He made me a better player. He helped me become a better player. I wish him the best. He played his 100th match in the Super League with Beşiktaş. I hope he plays another 100 games with Beşiktaş.”
“NO ONE BELIEVED US IN THE 2020-2021 SEASON”
The former Brazilian player stated that no one believed that they would finish the league at the top in the 2020-2021 season championship they won with Beşiktaş in the Super League.
Stating that the black-and-white team is looking for the old days, Josef de Souza said, “After we left, Beşiktaş was not the same. I hope they will be better next season. Because they need to be happy. I hope they can transfer better players next season. They can also be champions in the Super League, why not? Because they brought me, Rachid Ghezzal and Vincent Aboubakar in the 2020-2021 season. Nobody believed in us, but we became champions. I hope the same for Beşiktaş next season. happens.” he said.

Josef de Souza stated that he wanted the black-white team to reach a happy ending in the Turkish Cup.
Speaking about national football player Orkun Kökçü, the former Brazilian player said, “Orkun is a very good player. It would be a great honor for me to play with him. I wish him the best.” he said.
Adding that he wants the black-white fans to be happy, Josef de Souza said, “I hope they win their match against Konyaspor in the cup. I want them to go to the final and win the cup. Because Beşiktaş fans need to be a little happy. That’s why I wish the fans the best.” he said.
Giving information about his plans after his football career, Josef de Souza said, “I will start the course to become a coach in Brazil in June. I can return to Türkiye to coach in 2-3 years.” He concluded his words by saying.
