The Austrian coach held a press conference at the club’s facilities before the semi-final rematch with Shakhtar Donetsk tomorrow in the UEFA Conference League.

The 51-year-old experienced coach, when asked about the success of coach Arda Turan in his first year at Shakhtar Donetsk and the possibility of coaching a team in the Premier League in the future, said: “I think he is doing a great job. The football they show on the field, and not only how they play, but the way they show it, has a clear style. What really impresses me is their disciplined defense and the high tempo they show in every match. This is something I see not only in international matches, but also when I watch league matches in small stadiums with a small number of fans. A goal.” “When they score or when the winning goal comes, watching how they experience that moment, how they celebrate and how the players on the bench run onto the field… This is always proof for me that the coach has instilled a great spirit in the team. They are leading the league by 10 points and they are playing in the semi-finals now. This is a really great job.” he replied.

Glasner stated that the whole team was excited before the rematch of the first match, which they won 3-1, and said, “Shaktar Donetsk is a team with an offensive mentality. They have very talented and mobile players at the front. We know how they will play. They are a very well-organized, hard-working team and this match is a great stage for them to show themselves. In international matches, the players want to use this stage for both their own future and Shakhtar.” he said.

The Austrian coach stated that he watched Shaktar Donetsk’s 4-5 match before the rematch and said that the Ukrainian representative played very bravely and liked their technical quality.

“I REALLY ENJOYED ALL THE EUROPEAN NIGHTS AT SELHURST PARK”

Glasner, who had previously announced that he would leave the team at the end of the season, was reminded that he would play the last European cup match with Crystal Palace in London and said, “I really enjoyed all the European nights at Selhurst Park. I think we have grown with this tournament. The atmosphere in the Fiorentina match was great, the dose of excitement increased with each passing match and we are at the peak now.” he said.

Regarding his decision to leave, Glasner said, “Of course, the thought of leaving is painful, there are reasons for this, but we want to finish the season in the best way possible. Together with my team, we will continue to prepare the entire team as best we can. I am very happy to be a part of this club.” he said.

19-year-old French defender Jaydee Canvot said, “Normally at this time of the year you feel tired, but right now everyone is running around, everyone is trying to prove that they are ready for the final. Sometimes players look forward to the holiday, but when there is such a big match and the chance of a cup, everyone is eager to play.” he said.

WILL HUGHES WILL BE READY TOMORROW

Coach Glasner noted that Will Hughes, who could not play in the league match against Bournemouth due to his illness, is able to play in the match tomorrow.

Stating that the condition of 24-year-old Evann Guessand will be evaluated tomorrow, Glasner stated that Borna Sosa, Eddie Nketiah and Cheick Doucoure continue to be injured.

Crystal Palace completed the preparations for the Shakhtar Donetsk match with the work done at its facilities.
