Post Malone announced new music before his appearance at the first weekend of the Coachella Festival – and on a rather big style.
On the evening of April 13, the “Sunflower” singer completed the first coachella weekend in California. He will also perform as headliners together with Lady Gaga and Green Day this coming weekend. But he had already reported news …
35 new songs – but no premieres at the festival
For a new project, Malone has been in Nashville in the studio twice. And apparently he was quite productive there: “I probably made 35 songs,” he revealed in an interview with “Billboard”. Now it is only a matter of choosing “which rock – and which are for the bins,” he said with a wink. However, fans have to be patient, because on the two headlining shows at the coachella, he “never” wants to play new songs live for the first time.
He is still working with so-called scratch vocals, i.e. preliminary singing traces, but the band has already completely recorded several songs. “Then I sit there and listen to the songs – usually I hate listening to my own music – but when I hear the band play, I really get it,” continued Post Malone.
Coachella headliner: “Everything hurts”
Malone also reflected on his previous festival experiences and spoke openly about the nervousness that he would now feel before such appearances-in contrast to his 2018 debut in the Sahara tent of Coachella. “I wasn’t that nervous at the time,” he said. “I’m just old now. Everything hurts.”
In addition, he spoke about his connection to the music scene in Nashville, who warmly welcomed him after the publication of his 2024 album F-1 Trillion. He raved about creative cooperation: when he gets together with friends and other artists, “we just sit there, talk and do damn songs again. That’s why I’m really looking forward to the new album.”
“Big Ass World Tour” with Jelly Roll
His still up-to-date album F-1 Trillion was a complete success and contained collaborations with stars such as Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw and Luke Combs. Success also opens up new stages this year: Post Malone will go on a stadium tour for the first time, together with the rapper Jelly Roll. The “Big Ass World Tour” leads it through numerous large cities; In August and September it also comes to Germany (appointments below). The ticket sale is running.

Since the release of twelve Carat Toototchache in 2022, Malone has launched a new album every year – and it looks like this rhythm is also maintaining in 2025. “Hopefully we will publish new music very, very soon,” he announced.
His coachella appearance fell on the weekend right in front of the Record Store Day 2025, in which he appeared in the USA as an official ambassador. And just recently he surprised fans with a performance together with a reunited Nirvana line-up at the SNL 50: The Homecoming Show.
