Possibly the most expensive violin ever under the hammer

A violin by Italian builder Guarneri del Gesù, known as the ‘Baltic’, will go under the hammer at the New York auction house Tarisio on March 15. The value of the instrument from 1731 is estimated at at least 10 million dollars (9.47 million euros). If the violin exceeds $15.8 million, it will become the most expensive ever at a public auction.
