Portrait of Queen Elizabeth vanishes from Australian banknotes | royalty

The five-dollar bill is the only note featuring a British monarch in Australia.

Indigenous people will be consulted for the design of the new note, so as to honor “the culture and history of the original inhabitants”, according to the Reserve Bank of Australia.
The design and printing of the new banknote will take “a number of years”, it still sounds. The banknotes with an image of the Queen, who died in September last year, which are already in circulation, remain legal tender.
