It is not necessary to be tested for coronavirus “en masse”, the study must be carried out by those who have symptoms, said the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova on the air of the Russia 1 TV channel.

As Popova explained, with symptoms, there is definitely a point in testing, because in case of malaise, both the person and the doctor must know what he is ill with. This is necessary, if only because among all cases of infection in Russia, the proportion of influenza is still high, and the tactics of treating COVID-19 and influenza are “almost diametrically opposed,” she noted.

“But we have been talking about the fact that everyone does not need to be tested every day since the very first days of 2020,” the head of Rospotrebnadzor added.
