Popken Fashion Group takes over third Klingel brand

The last brand of the Klingel Group, which has since been discontinued, was sold.

After the plus-size fashion brands Happysize and Miamoda, the Popken Fashion Group is now taking over another bell brand, Meyermode. The trademark rights as well as the customer addresses and inventory were transferred to the group based in Rastede in Lower Saxony on February 15th, the shipping company announced on Wednesday.

With the newly acquired brand, the family business, which already includes brands such as Ulla Popken, Laurasøn, Studio Untold and JP1880, is further expanding its portfolio. The fashion group, which specializes in plus-size fashion, sells its brands through online shops and in its own branches in more than 30 countries.

“The collaboration with the Popken Fashion Group went smoothly and we are pleased that the experienced investor has now also taken over Meyermode,” said Klingel managing director and restructuring expert Marcus Katholing. “We sold all bell sales brands within just a few months.”

In May of last year, Klingel’s parent company, K – Mail Order GmbH & Co. KG, filed for bankruptcy. At the end of January this year, the Klingel Group’s holding company, as well as its subsidiary Impressionen, ceased operations. Numerous brands have already been sold over the past few months. In addition to Meyermode, the clothing brands Alba Moda, Klingel, Babista, Mona, Miamoda and Happysize as well as the jewelry supplier Diemer, the shoe label Vamos, the health brand Wellsana and the promotional products specialist Schneider also found new owners. It was also announced at the beginning of the week that the fashion and furniture retailer Impressionen was becoming the property of the Witt Group.
