The area around the asylum seekers’ center in Budel has been designated as a security risk area. This means that the police can now carry out preventive searches. The decision is a response to, among other things, the stabbing that happened in and near the asylum seekers’ center.
Earlier this week, Mayor Roland van Kessel already instituted an emergency ordinance. The most important point in this was that people in and around the asylum seekers’ center were not allowed to have objects with them that could injure others.
