First someone was shot on the street, then bullets were fired at a house. Ultimately, the police find an injured man at a third location who tries to flee.

The commotion starts last night at 6:30 PM to the Black-tailed Godwit in the Kersenboogerd district.

“Fireworks are early today,” is how a neighbor described his and his wife’s thoughts this morning. “On reflection, it sounded a bit different from fireworks,” the man continues. The bangs sounded at least three times, he remembers. “We only heard later that there had been a shooting.”

One person was injured in that shooting. “He had injuries consistent with gunshot wounds,” a police spokesperson told NH.

Two boys are arrested near the Godwit. It concerns a 19-year-old from Hoorn and a minor suspect whose place of residence and exact age are not disclosed by the police.

‘Residents were at home’

More than half an hour after that first shooting, at 7:10 p.m., a house on Winterkoninkje is shot at – it is in the same neighborhood. Only the location is a few hundred meters towards the center of Hoorn.

Several bullets are fired at the house, police describe. “One went through the glass of the window. And people were home in the house. Fortunately, no one was injured,” the police said about this second incident.
