Police show images of abuse after the Liberation Festival in Opsporing Requested

The police will show moving images of an assault that took place after the Liberation Festival in Assen tonight during Opsporing Requested. Two boys aged 14 and 15 were then assaulted by a group of young people.

The police gave the perpetrators until yesterday to report, with still images from a surveillance camera. Now that no one has reported, the moving images are shown. Some tips have been received by the police, but they have not yet led to an arrest.

The two victims cycled home from the Bevrijdingsfestivalterrein on the Baggelhuizerplas in Assen on the night of 5 to 6 May around 1:30 am. At the Oostermoer they come across a group of young people who attack the duo out of the blue. The boys are punched and kicked and are injured in the process.

According to the police, the group of perpetrators consists of eleven people, including some girls and young women. One of the persons is walking on crutches and another is wearing a bright orange coat.
