The man had knocked on a neighbor’s door in the Austrian capital and shouted. He would have had a firearm with him, although he had been banned from doing so.
When police special units arrived at the apartment building, the man fired through the locked door of his apartment. The policemen stormed the apartment and a gunfight broke out, in which the man was killed.
