The street racers tried to gather at the PMO gas station along the Westhoekweg in Poperinge and at the Witte Molen along the Poperingseweg in Vlamertinge, confirms Glenn Verdru of the Arro police zone. The police prevented that and what followed was a cat and mouse game. The tuned cars tried to get away via the A19 to Kortrijk. Patrols from nearby police zones prevented the tuned cars from leaving the highway by blocking a number of exits.
