Bet correct, officer acquitted
For four years the question was whether the officer used his service dog correctly. The judge today ruled that this is the case.
During the deployment, the judge accepted that the officer could cause serious injury from a dog bite, but that this was proportionate according to the law.
The officer is also acquitted of serious assault. He allegedly hit the man several times with his baton, resulting in several bruises on the arms and thighs.
But according to the judge, these places do not count as serious bodily injury. It cannot be said with certainty whether the spots were caused by the agent.
