On Tuesday, three beaked whales threatened to strand on the Dutch coast. If such an animal were to wash ashore, they would be ‘doomed to death’, according to SOS Dolphin. People who sought refreshment at Zandvoort during the hot day tried to help the animals by pushing them back towards the sea.

Once the beaked whale was free from the sand and swam in the right direction again, a woman a few feet away in the water grabbed her moment. She grabbed the dolphin with her arms and, by throwing a leg over it, wanted to be carried away. With a ‘act normal’, the bystanders tried to get her off the animal. Then the animal could try to find its way back to the North Sea.
