Police crush French drug couriers after 15-kilometer chase: anonymous vehicle is damaged | mean

Roeselare/MenenTwo French drug couriers got stuck in Menen on Sunday afternoon. The police noticed the duo in Roeselare, but when the suspects noticed this, they ran away. Along the way, they threw drugs out the window.

Around 3.45 pm, the police spotted a Renault Clio with a French number plate in the center of Roeselare, of which the two occupants behaved suspiciously. The driver dashed off via the Meensesteenweg and drove away from the center.

Drugs recovered

Several teams and an anonymous vehicle of the RIHO police zone gave chase. The suspects dashed past the Floralux garden center, which is also open on Sundays. Miraculously, there was no accident with passers-by anywhere. The police saw the occupants throw drugs out the window during their flight. The drugs could be recovered afterwards.

Not without a fight

Meanwhile, the police of the Grensleie zone (Menen-Wevelgem-Ledegem) was also alerted. Hundreds of meters from the entrance and exit complex of the A19, the white Renault Clio got stuck at the intersection with Kortewaagstraat in Menen. That did not happen without a fight, because it collided with a fast anonymous car of the RIHO police zone. It collided with the Renault Clio at the back, which ended up next to the road due to the impact. Both occupants were arrested. The anonymous police vehicle sustained significant damage in the front. One of the passengers suffered minor injuries.

Other facts

The arrested drug couriers were taken for questioning. They will probably be made available to the public prosecutor. Research should make it clear whether they also qualify for other facts.
