The police arrested a man and a woman this afternoon who are suspected of two shoplifting incidents at shoe stores in Meppel.
One of the suspects struck at the Scapino in Meppel at the beginning of the afternoon. Sportswear was stolen there. A little later, the police arrested a 29-year-old man of no fixed abode. “Because the assistant branch manager quickly provided a description in the Centrum Alert App, we tracked down the suspect with the help of enforcement and various entrepreneurs,” the police reported via Instagram.
A few hours later, Top Brand Schoenen in the Hoofdstraat was also hit. A pair of shoes was stolen here. A suspect was also arrested shortly after this theft; a 31-year-old woman from the municipality of Dalfsen.
