The police arrested two men this afternoon on suspicion of involvement in an explosion and arson on the Halvemaanweg in Emmen last November. The men are 21 and 18 years old and are both from Emmen.

In July and September of this year, the police already arrested two other suspects suspected of involvement in the explosion and fires. The previously arrested men aged 43 and 23 also come from Emmen.

Several explosions took place in Emmen in October and November last year. On October 20, heavy fireworks exploded on Kolhoopstraat. Explosions were also reported at the Stienackers and Het Meerveld on October 29, November 8 and November 11.

A car on Halvemaanweg was targeted by a fireworks bomb on October 13 and a day later, on November 14, a fire was set in the same place. A car and a shed could not be saved.
