Police arrest Tupac Shakur’s suspected murderer

Duane Davis arrested and suspected of murder – did he shoot Tupac Shakur?

The death of Tupac Shakur is still a mystery today. The hip-hop star, who was shot four times while driving in 1996, died six days later as a result of his injuries. However, to date no perpetrator has been convicted. But that could possibly change now, because the case has taken a surprising turn: the Las Vegas police have the “New York Times” according to the morning of September 29th. Duane “Keefe D” Davis arrested. The South Side Compton Crips member is accused of murdering Tupac Shakur and charges have been filed.

Duane Davis is no stranger

According to the New York Times, Davis testified that his nephew Orlando Anderson shot Tupac Shakur. He was also shot two years after the musician. Duane Davis also stated in his memoir “Compton Street Legend” that he and his nephew were in the car from which the fatal shots were fired at Shakur. He had already told the authorities everything about the case at the time – as part of a deal in which other allegations against him were dropped.

Shakur was 25 years old when he was shot dead under mysterious circumstances. At his side was Marion “Suge” Knight, the head of Death Row Records. As police said at the time, the two were waiting at a red light in a black BMW when a white Cadillac pulled up next to them and one of the occupants shot into the car. In his memoirs, Duane Davis also spoke of a possible motive. Shakur and friends allegedly beat up Orlando Anderson after a boxing match at the MGM Grand Hotel. The shooting was an act of revenge.

First murder charge in Tupac Shakur case

Over the past few decades, more than 20 people have been arrested in connection with the shooting, but no murder charges have been brought to date. In July of this year, the police in Las Vegas examined Davis’ statements in more detail and also seized evidence from his house. The current investigation now appears to be so sound that a murder charge was possible.
